March 21 & 25th @ Cineplex

The Breakfast Club defined an entire generation of pop culture and included such talent as Molly Ringwald “the prom queen,” Anthony Michael Hall “the geek,” Emilio Estevez “the jock,” Judd Nelson “the trouble maker,” and Ally Sheedy “the outcast.” This 30th Anniversary release includes the completely re-mastered feature that has never been seen before on the big screen plus a newly remixed bonus content featurette titled The Breakfast Club – A Retrospective that takes a look back at the film that defined a genre. Featuring personal insights from cast members Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Anthony Michael Hall and John Kapelos as well as contributions from filmmakers Diablo Cody, Amy Heckerling and Michael Lehman, this featurette is a must see for all Jocks, Criminals, Basket Cases, Brains and Princesses. Remembrance Day Ceremonies Ottawa

The National Ceremony

  • Each year Ottawa hosts the National Ceremony of Remembrance at the National War Memorial at the corner of Elgin and Wellington.
  • The ceremony marks the anniversary of the end of the First World War, at 11:00am on November 11th, 1918.
  • Prior to the ceremony, a parade of pipers and war veterans march from Cartier Square Drill Hall towards the War Memorial. (The pipe band leaves Cartier Square Drill Hall, marching via Laurier Avenue to Metcalfe & Queen. They’re joined by veterans at this location, and then continue marching down Queen Street towards the War Memorial.)
  • Wreaths are laid by dignitaries, along with veterans, and representatives of Canada’s armed forces.
  • Arriving early helps to get a good vantage point.  Whatever your position, you can also view the ceremony on the jumbo screens set up around the memorial and the many speakers broadcast the entire ceremony. The jumbo screens will display the Virtual Wall of Honour and Remembrance before and during the ceremony until 1030hrs, just before the arrivals of special guests including The Prime Minister, the Silver Cross Mother and the Governor General.
