On Sunday, February 15, 2015 the National Flag of Canada will turn 50!
As we prepare for the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017, the 50th anniversary of our National Flag is a significant milestone that calls for celebration.
Come and celebrate with us!
What: Bring your family and friends to mark the 50th anniversary of the National Flag of Canada:
  • Join the Winterlude Mascots for a flag raising and citizenship reaffirmation ceremony--where you can repeat the oath of citizenship to express your commitment to Canada.
  • Join the choir and sing ‘O Canada’.
  • Stroll through a photo exhibit of special people and moments that feature our flag.
  • Read about how our flag was born, and check out the gorgeous flag-themed ice sculpture.
  • Enjoy a piece of birthday cake.
  • Wave your flag and mark this special moment by posting your “selfie” on Facebook, Twitter and Flickr (#FLAG50).
When: February 15, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.
Where: Confederation Park, located at the corner of Elgin Street and Laurier Street in Ottawa.
