KID STUFF AT OIAF 2014

There's a ton of great stuff for families at the Festival!  Come to the National Gallery of Canada on Saturday, September 20 for our Shorts and Series for Kids programs.  Check out all our Walt Disney screenings including the Little Mermaid!  and check out the family feature Aunt Hilda !

  • Short Animated Films Made for Kids  -Give your family a real film festival experience and let them experience a different side of animation with this hour long screening.  Sit with our Kids Jury and pick which film you think should win.  Several filmmakers will be in attendance.
  • Television Animation Made for Kids

  • Walt Disney Animation Studios Program - We will be doing two rare screenings of the Little Mermaid with the directors in attendance, a couple screenings of classic Disney Short films and a look behind the scenes at the newest Disney short film.
  • Aunt Hilda -French w English subtitles  “World Hunger is Solved!” exclaims the antagonist in this beautifully rendered, hand-drawn animation. Motivated by money, the company Attilem grows biologically modified crops all over the world and it quickly replaces all other forms of food. The only natural plants left are the ones Aunt Hilda has been preserving in her huge green house. Is genetically modified food the answer we have been waiting for? Is Aunt Hilda ready to accept the future of botany? Is she really an Aunt? All these questions and more will be answered in the latest family film from the acclaimed French studio, Folimage creators of The Cat in Paris and OIAF 04 Grand Prize winner, Raining Cats and Frogs
