Canada Day Downtown

Canada Day on Parliament Hill
On July 1, Parliament Hill draws thousands of Canadians dressed in red and white. The Canada Day festivities on the Hill run from morning to night—ceremonial events, shows, activities, fireworks and much more! Enjoy the good cheer as Canadians from across the country come together in the Capital to celebrate Canada’s birthday.



9 a.m., East Lawn - Flag-Raising Ceremony
9:30 a.m., East Lawn - Changing of the Guard
10 a.m. - Carillon Concert
Noon to 1:30 p.m. - Canada Day Noon Show
2 p.m. to 5 p.m., East Lawn - Swing Dancing
7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. - Canada Day Evening Show (Serena Ryder)
10 p.m. (approx.) - President’s Choice® Canada Day Fireworks

Canada Day at Major’s Hill Park
The festivities at Major's Hill Park feature a variety of cultural performances, displays and exhibits. You can be both spectator and participant—there are lots of activities to suit everyone.A free Canada Day shuttle bus connects this site to Jacques‑Cartier Park, in Gatineau.

Canada Day at Jacques-Cartier Park
Bring your kids to Jacques-Cartier Park on July 1 and make Canada Day a play day! At the park you’ll find a variety of activities for families and, particularly, children aged 3 to 12. A free Canada Day shuttle bus connects this site to Major’s Hill Park, in Ottawa.
