It is a community event organized by the Glebe Community Association since 1986. Homeowners in the Glebe are the primary vendors working on their front lawns, driveways and porches. Collectively they make one giant sale that has become an annual community festival attracting thousands of people to the neighbourhood.
When: May 24th, 2014
Time: 7am-3pm
Where: The Glebe (the neighbourhood bordered by Bronson Avenue, the Queensway (417), and the Canal.)
- Bring cash: ATM machines empty out early, so bring cash to avoid disappointment.
- Fundraising: All participants are asked to donate 10% of proceeds to the Ottawa Food Bank.
- Rain date: The Great Glebe Garage Sale goes rain or shine.
- There is little to no parking, so if you can walk, bike or take the bus that is your best option, if you have to drive, try parking at Landsdowne Park.
Ecology Ottawa's Great Glebe GREEN Garage Sale
Ecology Ottawa will also be hosting their Great Glebe GREEN Garage Sale again this year, taking place at 680 & 690 Bank Street in the Rogers Plus and Kunstadt Sports parking lots. In addition to the biggest sale in the community, the event will feature a full line-up of live musical performances, massage therapists, a veggie BBQ, a bake sale, a station to refill your water bottles, a port-a-potty, and lots of exciting surprises.
