Family Oscar Party March 2, 2014

Even though most of us have not seen all the nominated movies, watching the Oscars can still be a fun experience. This year will be extra funny with Ellen Degeneres as the host. If your little ones will be in bed once the big night starts you can have an afternoon party, if not you can have some fun during commercials.

With only a week to go, (and the only family friendly category being animated feature) you have probably seen the nominees, if you could always have a movie night to catch up. The Croods, Frozen, Despicable Me 2, Ernest and Celestine and The Wind Rises.

Oscar Night

  • First things first, dress the part, go through your closets and pick out a fancy outfit for you and the kids. The fancier the better, don't forget some amazing hair dos. You could even have a little photo shoot just like the stars.( Don't forget to ask the fun questions... "who are you wearing" their answers will be priceless).
  • Movie charades, put your favorite movie titles in a hat and take turns acting them out.
  • Have a game of Trivial pursuit (Disney or Nickelodeon edition)
  • Make your own trophies and nominate each member of the family for an award
    • Materials
      • plastic cups
      • gold paint
      • glue
      • pipe cleaners
      • black marker
    • Directions

      • once dry place glue on the bottom on the cups and glue them together
