The Canada Day 2014 Celebration in Riverside South is coming soon and it is an event not to be missed! The extra room at Claudette Cain Park and the continued involvement from local businesses has allowed us to expand the event with even more entertainment and amenities! The community's premier summer event is hosted by the Riverside South Community Association, marking the 12th year the association has hosted the annual celebration. FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY – CANADA DAY CELEBRATION! Tuesday July 1st, 10:00am to 2:00pm at Claudette Cain Park Exciting new event this year! GEO RACE Scavenger HuntGeo Race is teaming up with the Riverside South Community Association to bring you the Claudette Cain Canada Day Geo Race Scavenger Hunt. Using your iPhone you will navigate through a series of checkpoints, brain teasers and fun questions. Careful! Every wrong answer will give you a 2 minute penalty. You can submit your time to the leaderboard and see how you match up against your fellow Canadians. Download the app or ask the info desk for a printed version of the race. FUN PASSES are required for all participation in the Canada Day celebration for children 3 years of age and older. Children under 3 years old do not require a Fun pass, and neither do adults. The cost for Fun Passes is $10 per child. Any questions regarding Fun Passes, please email social@riversidesouth.org. BBQ: All BBQ Food and Drinks donated courtesy of Moncion’s Independent Grocer for the 10th year and operated by volunteers. The BBQ will be operational from 11:00am to 2:00pm. We will also celebrate both Canada Day and the Riverside South Community Association’s 16th anniversary with a cake. Cake cutting will start at approx. 1:00pm, with local politicians Pierre Poilievre and Steve Desroches on hand for the festivities. There will also be balloons and free cotton candy courtesy of The Gathering, so be sure to come out and satisfy your sweet tooth! PARKING:
The parking lot next to the splash pad is restricted (handicap and special parking), but people can use the main Claudette Cain Park lot or the Moncions parking lot.
