21 Halloween Activities for the Kids in Ottawa 2015


1. Agriculture Museum- Barnyard Halloween at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum with scavenger hunts, costume parade and pumpkin decorating, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Included with admission. cafmuseum.techno-science.ca

2.The Billings Estate-Halloween Party from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with trick-or-treating, child-sized haunted houses and a monster-shooting gallery, 2100 Cabot St. Tickets: $6, $16/family. www.ottawa.ca/museums

3.The Hintonburger -Hauntedburger for one day only, with a the last visit of the season from The Merry Dairy offering pumpkin ice cream cone and other treats, noon to 3 p.m., 1096 Wellington St. W.

4.Rama Lotus- Halloween party at Rama Lotus, appropriate for ages 4 to 9 years accompanied by an adult, 1 to 2 pm. Kids are welcome in costume and drop-in fees apply. www.ottawayoga.ca

5.Wakefield Centre Halloween Dance Party in their Haunted Great Hall, with music from DJ Amber D, prizes for best costume, pizza slices for sale and cash bar for those of correct age, 6:30 p.m., 38 Valley Dr. Tickets: $3, $10/family, to benefit WAY Food Program.

6.Hazeldean mall- a little Pre Halloween Fun. October 30th from 10am to 12pmTrick or Treat for free at all of our mall retialers.

7. A Halloween Party for Monsters of All Ages! Saturday, October 31Children's Museum 9:30am to 10pm. Families are invited to attend the best family Halloween party in town, hosted in the Museum's spectacular Grand Hall. Little and big monsters alike will enjoy hands-on crafts, games, face painting and live entertainment. Come in your most monstrous attire! Cost included with admission.http://historymuseum.ca

8. Lansdowne Park Pumpkin Derby.Design a pumpkin race car, build it, and let your imagination run wild to create an eye-catching racer. Compete for prizes and bragging rights at The 1st Annual Lansdowne Park Pumpkin Derby!! It’s a gravity race; the pumpkin racers roll down a ramp and hopefully make it to the finish line. The first pumpkin racer to cross the finish line will be the winner of the heat and move on to the next round. If none of the racers make it to the finish line the winner of the heat will be the car closest to the finish line. In the event of a tie there will be a second run down the ramp to determine the winner.10:00am-2:00pm. Oct 31st.

9.Carlingwood Children, under 12 years of age, come dressed up for Halloween and meet and greet Peter Pan, Captain Hook and Tinkerbell! Photographs, emailed to your home, are $5 each with all proceeds donated to CHEO! Free Trick or Treating Saturday, October 31. 10am-2pm.

10.Bayshore Shopping Centre. Oct 31st. Halloween Spooktacular will take place in the Lifestyle Lounge on the third level. Face painting will be running from 10am-5pm and movies will be running from 1pm-4:30pm! There will also be complimentary treats throughout the day, provided by Kernels, DAVID's Tea, and The Cupcake Lounge! Be sure to join us for a day filled with fun Halloween activities for the entire family!

11.Westgate Mall. Oct 30th 3pm-7pm. Come dressed in costume and meet the Ice Queen from "Frozen" or Spidey, have your picture taken if you dare!

12.THE HAUNTED WALK-Oct. 9 to 31. Experienced guides tell spine-tingling tales from the city’s past during extended versions of the Haunted Walk’s permanent tours. The Original Haunted Walk takes visitors to sites around town, including the Bytown Museum, while Ghosts and the Gallows goes inside the Ottawa Jail Hostel. Ready for a real fright? 13.CANNAMORE ORCHARD SPOOKY WAGON RIDE.Oct. 9 to 31. Witches, ghouls, and body snatchers come out to play on this terrifying wagon ride through the woods. Other attractions include a haunted house, a fog maze, and a spooky village. Candy apples and other seasonal treats are available at the village store. Ages 10 and older. 14.SAUNDERS FARM HAUNTING SEASON. Until Nov. 1. By day, the farm is an idyllic retreat where families can navigate mazes, visit a petting zoo, and take in some puppet shows. By night, it turns into a festival of frights that includes a walk through the Barn of Terror and a trip through the woods on the Haunted Hayride. 15.BILLINGS ESTATEOct. Oct. 31: Halloween Party. Learn about Ottawa’s haunted history, play games at the museum’s custom-made, child-friendly haunted houses, and receive a treat at the end of it all! $6 for single tickets, $10 for pairs, and $16 for families. 16.CUMBERLAND HERITAGE VILLAGE MUSEUM.Oct. 9 to 30: Haunted Historic Village. Scares and surprises lurk around every corner at what the museum refers to as “Ottawa’s most terrifying haunted experience.” Tours begin at 7pm every Friday and Saturday night. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. $10. Oct. 25: Halloween Hijinks. Dress up in costume and go trick-or-treating at the village’s historic buildings — a variety of characters are waiting at each to hand out period-appropriate treats! 10am to 4pm. 17.PUMPKINFERNO.Until Nov. 1. Thousands of beautifully carved pumpkins glow in an outdoor display at Upper Canada Village, a historic site in southeastern Ontario. Images carved into the pumpkins include scenes from history, woodland animals, mythical heroes, comic book characters — even a massive, fiery dragon! 18.Lansdowne Park Pumpkin Derby.Saturday, October 31. Lansdowne Park is also holding the 1st Annual Pumpkin Derby!!! A super silly, crazy fun event for all ages! Transform an ordinary pumpkin into an extraordinary race car by adding wheels and a whole lot of personality.   2. Thanks dear for sharing this list of 21 Halloween Activities for the Kids. I am also a mother of two and organized a fun Halloween bash for them. In fact their teacher at Phoenix pre-k also hosted a creative Halloween event. It was very knowledgeable as well as enjoyable event for the kiddos.
