OTTAWA IRISH FESTIVAL

The Ottawa Irish Festival, organized by The Irish Society of the National Capital Region, is held annually in mid – March to promote our Irish and Irish-Canadian heritage and culture. The Festival celebrates traditional and contemporary Irish culture in the week leading up to St. Patrick’s Day, March 17.
Highlights
- Proclamation of Ottawa Irish Festival Days by City of Ottawa, at Ottawa City Hall
- Authors’ Day & Irish Photography Competition
- Annual St. Patrick’s Parade (starts at City Hall, proceeds west on Laurier Ave., north on Bank St., west on Wellington St. to an area near Library & Archives Canada building (395 Wellington St.)
- Parade Party at Saint Brigid’s Centre for the Arts
- Annual St. Patrick’s Day Lunch and Evening Celebration
- Live Celtic Music & Breakfast
- St. Pat’s SoirĂ©e featuring a gourmet dinner, auctions, casino and entertainment
- Erin Lunch with fiddlers, step-dancing and Irish stew
- Book launch at Peter Devine’s Irish Pub, Clarence Street in the Market
- Selection of the annual Rose of Tralee
- St. Patrick’s Day Dinner and Ceili
- Celebration of mass for St. Patrick at St. Patrick’s Basilica and St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon on March 17th
