Thursday Nights at Bytown Museum

Let us Entertain You: Free Thursday Evening programming is back!

Beginning Thursday July 3rd, stop by between 5 pm and 8 pm to explore the history of Ottawa through Storytellers, Actors, Musicians and tours. We’re pleased to welcome back for the 2014 season the Ottawa StoryTellers, Obviously, A Theatre Company and David & Laurie Finkle and present our line-up:

Thursday, July 3: Step back in history and explore Ottawa’s History with tour by our costumed characters! In addition, on July 3rd, we’re pleased to welcome a violinist in costume to liven up Ottawa’s Oldest Stone Building! English tours at 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm, French tours at 6:00 pm.

Thursday, July 10: Obviously, A Theatre Company will bring to life the stories of people who helped shape Ottawa's history. Featuring a cross between theatre and storytelling, Obviously's unique style will be sure to keep you on your toes. Join the artists for three vignettes telling the stories of 'The life and death of Thomas D'Arcy McGee', 'Faith Fenton: Canada's first female reporter' and 'The Charlottetown Conference: A Comedy'. Presented in English, free admission.



Thursday, July 17: Ottawa StoryTellers will be on at 6 pm and are sure to bring Ottawa’s history to life through their talented tellers! Presented in English, free admission.



Thursday, July 24: Musician David Finkle has been called a 'Renaissance man'. Hailing from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory in southern Ontario, he is an award-winning multi-instrumental recording artist versed in many musical genres. He's a sound engineer, a storyteller, a producer and has completed many scores for various theatrical productions. He is also a highly sought after project facilitator for his popular traditional drum making workshops and can be seen performing the festival circuit with different musicians from many cultural backgrounds. Presented in English, free admission.

Thursday, July 31: Ottawa StoryTellers will be on at 6 pm and are sure to bring Ottawa’s history to life through their talented tellers! Presented in English, free admission.
